The Big Sun scholarship is provided by the Big Sun Athletic Organization and gives $500 for college to the winning students. The Big Sun Athletic Organization is dedicated to providing services and opportunities that help student athletes reach their academic goals.  You can apply for this scholarship no matter what sport you participate in. Though it’s worth only $500, these smaller amounts can add up to benefit you and your wallet! Applying for this June scholarship is also very simple and only requires a short essay to win.

Eligibility and How to Apply

There are only a few eligibility requirements for this June scholarship.  To participate. you must be a high school senior or a student already attending a post-secondary institution. You must also participate in a sport. In your application, you should include information about the sport you play. You are eligible for this scholarship whether you participate in a sport at your school or simply through a community team. To apply for the chance to receive $500 for your post-secondary education, you need to submit a short essay that explains how your education changed or contributed to who you are and why you want receive a college education. Just e-mail you essay to athleticawards@bigsunathletics.com along with information about the sport you love. You should, of course, also include you name, age, and school you attend.

Deadlines and Notifications

The deadline for the Big Sun scholarship is June 22, 2012. Make sure you e-mail your essay and information by the deadline, or better yet, a few days early. In your e-mail, you can also ask for confirmation that your essay was received and will be reviewed. The winner of this scholarship will be notified within two weeks of  the entry deadline and the name of the winner will be posted on the Big Sun Athletics website. The scholarship reward will also be mailed to the winner within two weeks of the June 22 deadline.
